To achieve maximum and permanent results after your laser hair removal procedure, there are some simple things you need to do beforehand. First, make sure that you are being treated by a licensed laser technician – a Certified Laser Practitioner, Certified Clinical Electrologist, Certified Medical Electrologist and/or Licensed Electrologist. Your practitioner will let you know the exact pre procedure instructions you should follow depending on the type of service and machine they will be using, but you should limit waxing, plucking, and other hair removal treatments for about six weeks. You should also strictly avoid the sun and wear sunscreen for one to two months prior to your treatment and during your treatment period. This is to prevent scarring, burning and spots. Either the day before or the day of treatment, shave the area with a razor. Be sure to speak with your laser expert about any additional tips, and enjoy the newfound freedom your laser hair removal treatment will bring!
